Drive across the beautiful agricultural countryside of rural India across the undulating gangetic plains to reach your first destination, Agra. This bustling city houses centuries of Indian history, epitomized in the beautiful Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal needs no description of its beauty. One of the Seven famed Wonders of the World, this monument signifies the undying love that Mughal Emperor ShahJahan preserved in his heart for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Behind the marble monument flows the Yamuna, luxuriant in the middle of its course. After this awaits you a sumptuous lunch at one of the best restaurants in the city, after which refuled we'll head to the Agra Fort.

The Agra fort had been one of the seats of the traveling Mughal Empire and is famed for having housed the Emperor Shah Jahan who was kept under house arrest by his son Aurangzeb, remembered as one of the most unfavored of the Mughal emperors. It is said that Shah Jahan requested that he placed in the octagonal tower in the fort from where he had a clear view of the Taj Mahal, which kept him company till his last breath.
From here, we shall head to the famed marble factories of Agra where you can observe the intricate process of the making of inlaid marble peices, with precious and semi-precious stones laid ornately into the marble slabs. After this you shall be taken back to the hotel for a night of rest under the shadow of the Taj.

After an elaborate breakfast, we shall proceed to the beautiful walled city of Fatehpur Sikri, constructed and ruled by the Rajput Rajas before being won over by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The city therefore bears the indelible mark of Rajputana architecture and also a tpuch of Mughal art, given the long occupation of the Mughals over it. This gives it an exclusive and unique charecter distinguished from most other monuments of that period. Among the many beauties that this walled city houses, the most distinguished are the Diwan-e-khas, or the hall of private audience for the Emperor, Panch Mahal, the tomb of saint Salim Chisti and the Buland Darwaza.
